Perfect match: Maxi Dickerhoff becomes brand ambassador for CILO
Maxi Dickerhoff is no stranger to the bike scene — and as of now, he’s officially our brand ambassador for CILO.
The former professional mountain biker brings not only years of experience from elite racing, but also deep insights from editorial work and marketing for major cycling brands. A true all-rounder who knows the industry from nearly every angle.
A career with curves — and plenty of drive
From trained toolmaker to editor at MTB-News.de to leadership roles at top-tier brands, Maxi’s journey has been fueled by his passion for the sport. Today, he runs his own content agency, Inside Out Studio, where he channels his mountain biking vision into creative storytelling.
Maxi also boasts an impressive athletic career: In 2013, he was part of the founding team of the Enduro World Series and raced for the Canyon Factory Enduro Racing Team — side by side with his idol, two-time downhill world champion Fabien Barel. At legendary races like the Trans-Provence, Trans-Savoie, Trans New Zealand, and Andes Pacifico, Maxi stood out with his distinctive riding style and charismatic presence on the bike.
SUPERTRAILS and content driven by passion
Maxi has constantly reinvented himself — which is exactly why he’s the perfect ambassador for CILO. “I’ve never settled for standing still. Challenges have always been part of my journey — professionally and athletically,” he says. His new mission: to bring the CILO philosophy “We embrace, but race” to life. To do so, a wide range of content projects are in the works — from video productions and photo shoots to podcast recordings.
Together with photographer Markus Greber and creative mind Tobias Kiesow, Maxi co-founded SUPERTRAILS — a visual travel guide to the best mountain bike trails around the world. The goal: to capture the essence of mountain biking in powerful images and compelling stories. A special project is coming in 2025: a completely new trans-Alpine route designed specifically for e-mountain bikers — featuring epic singletracks, breathtaking landscapes, and accommodations with charging stations.
Maxi x Kyano C: Trail love at first ride
Off the record, Maxi can most often be found riding the Kyano C Enduro Light-Assist e-MTB — a bike that perfectly matches his dynamic style. Why CILO? For him, it’s personal: “My mother has owned a CILO road bike since 1986. That bike is older than me — and has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.” That legendary vintage bike even gets its own spotlight: it appears in Maxi’s first video collaboration with CILO, which premiered at the E-Bike Days in Munich.
